I had the same problem with my rainbow boa, I just kept misting her head with a spray bottle, while I was holding her, then after doing so about 10 mins I would try to rub it off or pull it off.It is hard to do so but her nostrols were clogged and I noticed her breathing sounded like an RI.As soon as I finally got off the old skin she sounded normal again.Good luck
