I've been breeding for a couple of months now. I got over 500 lobsters from a guy in the classifieds here. I'm still trying to breed hissers with no luck, but the lobsters are very prolific and hardy little guys that will save you tons on crickets. Check the feeders section in the classifieds here for a good deal. Lobsters are the most popular and very easy to take care of reaching 1.5 inches in length (about the same weight as a full grown cricket) You've got discoids that are still easy to produce, a little more expensive, but you omit the need to vasoline your tank as these guys do not climb glass or fly. They you've got Hissers, often kept as pets, very nutritious for full grown beardies, but are way too big, (sometimes exceeding 4 inches) to feed any beardies under 16 inches. I hope this helps.
