An inch not counting the tail right? I watched my girlfriends hatch and out of the egg they were at least twice that. Anyway, I also watched her first leo go from a common looking baby as yours sounds to a hypo carrot tail. So I guess there's no telling really unless you saw the parents. And even then it seems like it can be pot luck. But I know I've watched the colors change.
