Clean the cage weekly and change the drinking water daily to prevent the possibility of infection. As soon as you notice blue/silver eyes (indicating the onset of a shed) mist the cage heavily and keep it damp until the snake sheds. Often times the stuck eyecap will free itself with the next shed. After the snake sheds, inspect the skin to see if the right and left ocular caps have been shed. If not you have two options! The first is to visit a veterinarian as soon as possible. The second is to remove it yourself. However, if you do not have experience in doing this, then I heavily discourage it! Either way, removing the cap is a must! or else a serious infection may result! Hope this helps! [ Hide Replies ]
