Well, i dont really know much about the different macros out there. I do know I can have the lense of the camera less than an inch from the object and get a nice picture. That pic I took is with the macro option, and then further cropped, but not much. If I was on my other computer I could show an awesome pic of my ball pythons eye with reflected scales in it.

I dont know about the megapixels and internet thing, I can sure see differences in other peoples pics, and my own too. I dunno. I like to print out pics too so I really like this, and it was only $500. That's what credit cards are for. I dont think that's a bad price, 3 years ago my 3.2 megapixel camera was $300, now you can get that for $100 or so. To me its worth the money!
