Typical, I never met a animal control officer that could tell a brown snake from a copperhead or his arse from a hole in the ground. Its a shame that they are not expected to know much and don't bother to learn on their own. I always imagine a job interview for an animal control person going something like this:

"so, can you whack things on the head?","Yep", "Do mind being complete ignorant over the matters that you are entrusted with?", "nope"," Then your hired!"
