I've been keeeping giant day geckos for a few years, and i had a male as my first. I noticed on my male he had very pronounced femoral pores on his inner thighs, they even produced a waxy secretion that the females didn't have. The females have chalk sacks on both sides of their neck. Males tend to have a broader head. If it hasn't devoloped it's bulge after a year it's more than likely female.
