Bad Shed

I was wondering what i should do about left over shed on the toes. I've heard 2 pick it off with tweezers, but my gecko is kind of shy and skittish. I sprayed him down nice and good, should this do the job?

Just out of curiosity, what would happen if a gecko was left with shed on its toes?
