Yes, anything that is venomous and not native to Georgia requires a permit. The permit itself is not difficult to obtain, as long as you are not intending to keep them in your home. They want you to have a commercial building and they will inspect the facility. The catch is the insurance policy required. The permit itself is around $200.00 per year. The insurance policy is about $3,000.00 per year.



Also prohibited in Georgia is keeping any native non-venomous snakes without a permit. This permit is inexpensive. I think around $20.00 per year, but is generally only issued for educational purposes.
