Lime removal from glass tanks

Does anyone have a clue on how to do it? I have two used 20 gal and one used 50 gal tank that all have lime build-up on them. I've been having a devil of a time trying to remove it all. It's so bad on one that most of it is cloudy; can't see the animals in there very well at all!

Sprig - Head Keeper of the Mellen Menagerie: 1 cat, 4 garter snakes, 1 ribbon snake, 1 baby corn snake, 1 tiny treefrog, 3 juvie house gex, 3 adult gerbils and 7 pups... & a partridge in a pear tree! (Just kidding about the bird! But I DO have a hubby, a 10 yr old boy and a 3 yr old girl in the mix!)
