Use CLR or another acid based lime remover along with several sharp razor blades.



Wear rubber gloves but don't worry too much about toxicity. A friend of mine cleaned a tank up with CLR after work one day and had fish in it by 9:00 that night. They all lived. Just make sure you rinse well.
