Posted by: Carlton at Mon Dec 20 14:05:53 2004 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Carlton ] Well, the female will add her genetic info to the mix, and some degree of coloration is due to individual variation (and I think there is a lot here due to the nature of cham skin structure), recessive genes that may have come from past generations in the bloodline. I don't know if there have been enough controlled captive/selective generations for the coloration to be totally predictable. Cham coloration genetics are not as well understood as that of say boids.
