Actually, this is a different one...this one is a young juvie who came like that recently from someone...who happened to be feeding it babyfood and crickets. I must say, though that the angles of Randy's pics really accentuate it. :D



I'm not exactly sure what causes the underbite in baby/juvie chahoua, but I've seen a number of young chahoua with a similar underbite. I assume that it's similar to wavy tails in baby Leachianus, in that most babies will grow out of it with proper diet and supplementation. For example, I had a baby GT leachianus that had an extremely wavy tail that looked like it was "beyond repair." After six months of straight T-Rex Leachie Diet and a few crickets per week, that gecko's tail was as straight as an arrow.



The adult I have posted on the classifieds is a totally different story. That gecko was not fed well when on breeding loan as an adult. He most likely will not grow out of the underbite, due to the fact that he's already done growing.
