I had my cornsnake, Ozzy, out today and he crawled up and wrapped himself around my neck. I thought nothing of it because he had wrapped around my neck many times before. This time, however, he got really tight...to the point where it was hard for me to speak....and he started to restrict circulation to my head. I was very scared, especially when I was telling my dad and brother that I had a problem and couldn't get the snake off and they didn't pay any attention until they saw that I was frantically trying to find his tail so I could unwrap him.
I know that when people think of dangerous constrictors, they're usually picturing Burms or retics or anacondas...but even a five-foot corn snake is enough to slow blood flow to your head, so be careful everyone...snakes are pretty much long bundles of muscle...
I'm not saying you should all have your corns in double-locked cages in locked rooms and all of that...just that you should be a little bit cautious and *pay attention to what the snake is doing when you have it out*
