Most often the laying site isn't big enough or deep enough to suit her tastes, but the soil might not be holding a tunnel well and frustrating her if she starts trying to dig. There is a great article on the finer points of egg laying, incubation, etc. for chams in general on the www.chameleonnews.com website. It is an article by Bill Strand who's really been there.
