I don't think it is a defense mechanism in chams. For most species defences are gaping, letting themselves fall off a branch like a dead leaf, flaring colors, flattening themselves to look bigger, curling and uncurling or lashing the tail. The more timid species tend to roll behind a branch to "disappear", and freeze. [ Hide Replies ]
