I have an adult pair of black phase white lipped pythons. I raised these from from wild caught babies and they are now about 6-7 feet long.
They are both fast moving snakes and not fond of being handled. They are nervous and kind of whippy despite regular handling. The male has never tried to bite, once out of the cage, but the female seems to have only one point in life which is to try and bite me. Her heat sensors are very accurate, her strike is lightnng fast and she is able to hit a small patch of exposed skin even though I cover up as well as I can when handling these guys. This includes gloves that cover me to above my elbows! These animals are absolutely beautiful, intelligent and interesting but I have never been able to get them to what I would consider the "nice pet" stage. It is funny that you mentioned that you have some spotted pythons. I got my white lipped pythons first and just recently got a pair of spotteds because I wanted some snakes that would be more suitable for handling. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence!
