Try a Mexican milk. They're calmer as hatchlings and very laid-back when adults. They're smaller than blacks or Andeans, maxing out at about three feet, so they feed best on hoppers and smaller. They are very beautiful, too, and almost bullet proof. Very easy to care for, Mexican milks do not develop black scale tipping as they age. You can't go wrong with a Mexican. My wife's one, but not a snake
