Thanks to everyone who helped troubleshoot this - we were able to locate a problem, not on our servers, and get it resolved. I am no longer having any problems with a slowdown, and we have no new reports.
While all the first people who complained, and I, are accessing via Comcast, after I asked I got several slowness reports from non-Comcast users. So that was just a coincidence that momentarily led me astray.
In the future, the best and fastest way to report problems is not to use the forums but to email me, either using the contact form or the Feedback button on main forum index page.
