scott,
thanks for the thoughts. i agree with you. Peromyscus are a bit more interesting to watch than Mus, and more attractive (at least to my eye). But they're too skittish to ever be attractive as pets to most. Even my stock, which are from lines bred in captivity for many generations, are much more nervous and quick than domestic mice (though not as bad as freshly trapped Peromyscus).
