I was at the New England Reptile Expo shopping for my garg, and at first all the ones I found were around $125 and up. Those prices didn't jive with the prices I've seen at Kingsnake and other sites.
Then I found one dealer with a garg priced at $50, and it didn't seem any smaller or lower quality than the others I'd seen. I asked him, point blank, why this one was cheaper than the others. He was surprised at the other prices I mentioned, and what he said was, basically, that the other prices were ripoffs.
Gargs are a bit rarer in the industry and some dealers will use that as an excuse to jack up the price.
Anyways, I bought the $50 garg and I've been very happy with my gecko. I don't think that gargs are much more expensive than cresteds - you just have to look around.
