I dont use higher watt bulbs..

I use only 45 watt halogen outdoor flood bulbs, you can use as many as you need for the size of the animal, they make a nice even hotspot thats 150f plus at 12-14 inches away from plywood in a solid top cage. I use them on every reptile it serves the purpose so well.
