What are the temperatures at the warm and cool ends of the tank? Could be he can't find a place that's the right temp for him.



Might be other things as well. Are there plenty of hides so that he can get out of sight if he wants to? How often do you change his water? How often do you feed him?



Not sure that it helps, but I have a King that behaves like this and after five years of tinkering with his setup, I still can't figure out what he's looking for.
