Hi msmoose - please don't think I am expert about this as I only have Luna. In the earlier post to tassadar898 I was just trying to impress upon her/him that Dot needs some respect - and safety

From my own experience...when I have to take Luna to the vet I have her travel box all set up and comfy (heat pack, etc.) and get her on her travel branch. It is a very short branch (i use it when I weigh her, too) and she willingly (usually!) goes onto it. I line her box with a towel (not terry or anything looped where claws can get caught), then close the box. She sleeps.

For cleaning I have it set up where I only do a complete cleaning once a month so she only has to come out then. I remove her catch basin, wet toweling every evening. I remove poop when I find it (fortunately chams seems to poop in the same place so I usually find her's easily as it is "cupped" by some scheff leaves under her basking spot.

I began handling her when she was young so she tolerates it well and has never tried to bite and only occasionally hisses. On her pissy days I leave her alone altogether - if she is determiend not to come out then so be it. The safest way to handle is to coax him/her onto your hand/branch after nudging gently from behind. Just make sure she is secure before moving or she might try to run and can run right off your hand/branch.

as for the husband - is this to interact with YOUR husband or her's (lol!) I have done no breeding so cannot comment - on either! ha-ha

I think ChamNews had an article on handling but cannot locate it - maybe someone else can? In the mean time here is another
