I'd love to know where YOU can get scfreening for "$5 Max"! Have you priced out screening at Home Depot or Lowes?? I didnt think so. You should not use FIBERGLASS Window Screening because the crickets can eat through it and the chams' feet will rip it.
I speak from experience. I have made 6 cages for my chams.
1. coated aluminum screening - $43.00 a small roll (just enough for one cage without making any errors in cutting it)
2. Window Screen Framing - $2.95 per 6ft piece
3. Window Screen Spine (to hold the screen in) - $ 5.99 per 24 FT roll
4. Spine tool (To get the spine in the groove) - $ 6.99
5. Screws to hold the frame - $12.95 per box
5. Hours and Hours to get the screen smooth and the spine forced into the groove - Priceless
GO ahead and try it....your "$5 Max" Screen will end up costing you about 60 per cage when average in the supplies and labor involved. Sure you can use Wood for the frame and staples for the screen (I've built an outdoor cage similiar to cham paradise's too) but that is an ugly cage for the inside of a house.
Anyway...please let me know where I can find screening at "$5 Max"...I'll rush right out and buy it.
