Okay yeah, first i used silicon to attach the 1/2 inch pvc connectors to the bottom of the tank:
Then I layed the egg crate in pieces on top and on the sides of the pvc connectors. notice the left side is higher to leave room for a pump for the waterfall.
Added some more pieces on the left...
Some rocks added to keep the sides up ( i never attached the egg crate to the pvc or anything else because gravity and wieght will keep it in place). I ended up not using these rocks because they had some epoxy coating that didnt always stay in water...
Mesh is placed around pumping area to keep large particles out (it will be impossible to access the pump) Again these rocks were not used, but I still used rocks for the mesh, same as the mesh, its held in place with the weight of the rocks.
Rocks are placed in the front area of the tank for looks and to keep the mesh down and the sides sturdy. Water also has been added.
Larger rocks are later added to allow for realism and to provide a place for moss to grow along the water edge. (it helps cover up the eggcrate too).
A layer of smaller aquarium gravel has been added before the Eco Earth was placed. The smaller rocks on top of the eggcrae stand at about 1/2 inch - 2 inches in some places. On tope of this I added the eco earth for the plants that will come later. The log that is in there was from the previous set up and already has java moss growing on it. I also added java moss around the shoreline where it should grow well.
After fiddeling with things, expecially the waterfall area, the tank is finally set up, pump running, however... plants (besides the few that you see) have not been added, I plan to order some online (mosses and ferns mainly) and i might buy a few locally if I can find good prices. If you have suggestions of plants and where i can put them let me know! on most of the eco earth, I planb to lay pillow/carpet moss to give it that lush green look, I may add tree fern pannel to the back and plant some epiphytes. In the left, where all that ugly gravel is, I plan to plant some Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, a grassy aquatic plant. In the above left, above the waterfall, maybe a fern? The right Im not sure about, what are your guy's suggestions? And is it a good idea to order from places like black jungle. I've only ordered mosses from there and those seem to ship fine. Anyways help would be appreciated, its so plain right now!
