I think they do recognize you, I've raised a male leo I got 10 years ago from a baby and when I go on vacation out of town, he refuses to eat for anyone but me even when they try to feed him by hand or any other method. He's a goofy lizard, my bearded dragon will eat for anyone, anytime, and anything!
