Very sorry but I COMPLETELY disagree with the calci sand issue. It's not just "colored calcium". It's sand with calcium in it and it's just as deadly as regular sand. I wouldn't be surprised if any day now you have to take your leo to the vet becuse she's impacted. Ritas, I would not take the risk. Leos are great pets and their safety is way more important than making your cage look good with sand. I don't want to start the whole "sand" issue again but I do want to give my opinion. Thanks for reading and please think about what I just said.
I see that this calci sand issue has two different opinions,experiences with it. I have a book that saids sand is safe but see some here dont agree while some do like it.
I will have to read more on this. Nothing is set up yet nor any type set up written in stone . I have the tank already 55 gallon and stand, Dual 40 watt plant bulbs for the soft non prickly cactuses but thats it so far.
