Hello, I've been a serious breeder for a number of years, but had never had anything spectacular happen until a year or two ago. In 1993 I brought in 10 baby Borneo Short-tail Pythons for some friends and myself. Upon receipt I noticed that 1 of the 10 was slightly lighter, greener than the rest. I kept that one and raised her up, eventually breeding her to an average, random male Borneo. She had 18 young that year before she died of unknown causes. I kept a 2.2 of her offspring; 1.1 seemed normal and 1.1 seemed a little lighter, greener. I raised that 2.2 up and bred them together and got, well, WOW! Both of the "kept back" females have produced exceptional offspring since then, but also normal looking offspring and somewhat lighter offspring. They have produced super lights, stripes, marbles, "normals" and all combinations in between. I'm just not quite sure what I have on my hands. Any insight to the genetics involved is very much appreciated.
E-mail for pictures. Thanks, Keith at SNAKEMAKERS
