I would not think that the sand paper would be a good idea. Probably end up irritating the pads of thier feet and then you would end up running into problems with them being able to hunt and exercise and the situation would worsen. Plus I dont know how they make sandpaper but there maybe some type of glue or chemical added. I use paper towel for all of mine, humid hide (I keep them pretty moist) ect. and generally do not have any problems. Gadzooks
