But on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica and yes you are right, Unless you have been there to see the true wild animals it is hard to make judgements in regaurds to mulit-generation captive born animals.

It is a Natural thing to a breeder to pick out "the best looking" animals of a litter to raise up to become breeders. Unfortunatly this act itself changes the look of the "True" Locality animal just after a few generations/ The breeder may be choosing animal for smaller size, better color, temperment or a variaity of different reasons. After 3-4 generations of breeding " the best of the best of the best..." You have changed the fundamental look of the true wild locality that you are breeding/buying.

In Costa Rica I actually found the animals to be brighter in color then what you see as "Central American Boas". Their colors are lighter then the Nics and their irredescence (sp) is very distinct, with a lot of orange colors. I have not been to the Belize area yet but hope to go within the next couple of years to view the animals there.

But to say one persons animal does not look like what you think it should does not mean that it is not that locality, it is just not your ideal version of that locality that is all.
