I have 2 of each and they are all great animals. One of the Texas rats was a biter as a baby, and they DO have a reputation for being a bit nippy. I would not hesitate to buy the Texas, however. You could get the black rat if you don't really care about the cost and want a slightly higher probability that it will not be nippy. To guarantees either way, as any baby ratsnake can be a biter. Most should calm down with regular handling. Both snakes, in my opinion, are excellent animals. Duffy | ||
