Not only are they very closely related, but even if there have been leucistic black rats found, it is very likely that many snakes sold as leucistic black rats were actually bred from original texas rat stock. I personally would go with the texas because you pretty much know what you are getting, it will be less expensive, and the individual differences you will find between two texans or two blacks will be as pronounced as the differences that you find between the two. Better yet...find a leucistic snake (black/texas or undecided) that YOU are impressed with and buy it. Good luck and enjoy. It will be a good animal. Duffy | ||
