Breeding Crickets

Does anyone here breed their own crickets? I ordered 500 and figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot, so I put a dish of moist potting soil in the tank with them and they immediately deposited eggs. I took the dish out and made sure to keep it moist and put it in a baggie on top of the tank, near a heat source because I read that they would be eaten if left in the tank.



Was this correct? Now what?
