Well DUH I posted this message in two other forums before noticing this... maybe I'll get more answers here.

This is a copy paste.

Thank you.

Hello.

First... I am trying to find someone to build me some custom cages. I thought I found someone but I haven't heard from him in a month and my last message went unanswered.

I am currently looking at cagesbydesign.com website but their price range is a bit over my head... I need each cage (24" length, 18" width and 12" hight with a shelf in the middle) includeing doors and VENTS at least to be about 100. I am fine with buying extra stuff.

So I wanted to know if anyone had any recomendations... oh and I need to be able to lift these so 1 cage HAS to be no more then 30lb. Plus I want them to be stackable (currently I am thinking of 3 ) oh and that price includes shipping... So I tenchatly wanted someone in coloraod so I didn't have to WORRY about the cage being shipped. (or someone willing to drive to coloraodo from a neighboring state)

Now the thing I ran into with custom cages is I typicaly use a under the cage heater... you know the ones that stick to the bottom of the cage on the outside? they get ON BARE GLASS from 80 to 90 degrees... less with substraight on them so they don't burn the snakes... But you need to use glass on the bottom.

SO I wanted to look at other methods. I don't want to use lights for various reasons so that leaves me with the under the cage heaters, heat rocks and heat pads... and anthing else I don't know about.

Now I have heard about the horros of heat rocks but I have a question... WHY if they are SO bad are they STILL being sold EVERYWHARE? I thought maybe the newer rocks are better. also if you scroll down on this page http://www.cagesbydesign.com/wizard/wizard_heating.asp (hopefully it will work) you will see some of these rocks (really expencive though... I am not counting that in the total cage... it's extra) come with a built in temp control.

Also you will see the heat pads I am talking about. Of course I would have to have a way to get the cords out... without a snake escapeing.... and that includes babies that can it fit in a 1/8 of an inch (maybe smaller!) area.

Thank you for your time and expertise.

- Sharon
