Flavis are a subspecies of goulds, and argus are a different species, they come from different places, different environments. Flavis are sand monitors, argus are floodplain monitors with some being Aussie and many being from New Guinea, they only cross in captivity. Argus- V panoptes, flavi- V gouldi flavirufus (last reclassification I checked). Of course with many of these animals for sale that resemble each other so much they may be argus, sold as crosses, who knows, I never looked at the pics.
