I never said that any cage would cause a good amount of stress...where you got that, I'm not sure. Crested geckos do just fine in a clear cage if given proper hiding and climbing structures...such as foliage/egg crates.
What I said is that the geckos may feel more secure in the reptarium as opposed to a screen cage...which I said because the reptarium doesn't let in as much light. The point of that, which apparently should've been better explained, is this; What you lose in visibility will be made up for by the fact that the geckos will be more likely to rest out in the open, meaning that one will probably still be able to enjoy seeing their geckos.
A half gallon plastic container with an opaque plastic lid isn't going to let in anywhere near the light that a 18x18x36 screen cage with a silver screen top would, so we're really getting into apples & oranges here. Obviously the geckos do fine in kritter keepers...otherwise all of these breeders wouldn't be keeping their hatchlings in them.
