Go cold turkey on the CGD to switch your gecko over. Mix it up with water, make it liquidy, and offer it up to your gecko whenever you normally feed him. It could take a few feedings before he really begins to chow down on it, but don't lose patience. Your gecko isn't going to starve itself instead of eating the CGD.

Perhaps it would expedite the "switching over process" to ease off the crickets for a week, just until he begins to eat the CGD regularly.

By the way, who recommended against feeding CGD?
