I agree. I love Dave Barry and think his stuff is a riot! His reaction was pretty typical of most folks. My neighbor called me over the back fence the other day, screaming that there was a HUGE VICIOUS snake in the yard. I was incredibly excited thinking that just maybe this would be something good! Wrong of course, as it was a 10 inch Garter sunning himself on the woodpile. I gently picked him up and showed him to my neighbor who even was brave enough to pet the little fellow, before I put him in my yard. At least, my neighbor and Dave Barry didn't kill their respective monster snakes. I was recently in the Everglades and the rangers suggested to us that we "accidently" run over any Burms we see. They hate them there and want them gone!
