everything sounds good except--

You don't need to bury the egg that deep. Maybe only an inch or so. Also, you can leave the egg outside but in the shade. Full sun would probably kill it. It wouldn't hurt to put some sort of screen over it as well.

Wait till it hatches! You will go nuts.
