Horned frogs go into a state of brumation (hibernation, but for amphibs) where they secrete a mucous layer over the top of them to lock in moisture and usually burrow. How to bring your frog out of this? Gradually start leaving your light on longer, raise the temp gradually and spray the frog/the substrate he is under often. What you are trying to replicate is the rainy season so that he comes out of brumation. Don't worry unless he is showing noticable signs of weight loss and he isn't buried. My adult pac went 6 months without eating and then when he resurfaced he ate about 3 times his body weight in 2 weeks. Good luck! | ||
