defenetly sounds like a boa to me. They are offten calm, especially if rasied up from a baby, but be ware, all snakes may sometimes bite. As for colors a few boas i would suggest that won't cost you too much that make magnificent adults[ boas change there colours as they mature] would be a east bay vivarium "red group" boa, or a f1 hypo, or even a pastel.
