If I had to guess, I would say codominant not recessive. My guess is the first one popped out as a fluke, kind of like the first super motley which was from a motley to normal breeding. It will probably take one more breeding to prove this though. I would breed the father to an unrelated normal and bet half the offspring come out this way.
