Every Corn I have ever seen has the dark band through the eyes!! Every book I have ever read on Corns also calls them Rat Snakes. I don't think the dark band is any indication to what you all are calling Rat Snakes, both Corns and Rats have them in a lot of cases.



I am not the best at identifying specific snakes but I know that the Corns have that band through the eyes. I think I understand what you folks mean by "Rat Snake" and differentiating them from Corn Snakes.
