I have seen some things that indicate it is better to have a slightly more humid hide area than I (or most) typically provide, as the natural burrow areas under large rocks/boulders are somewhat more humid than what you would expect in a so-called *desert* area. Many areas of the collared's natural range also experience extended seasonal "monsoon" type rains in the summer months. The gravid females select a more *damp* area for nesting excavations, and many refuse to lay without being offered an area that has suitable humidity. I know my current setups are close to zero humididy, with absolutely baked dry play sand for the substrate. I also had that one female with shed problems on her feet... | ||
