hiking in the victorville, CA area

I was wondering if anyone lives in the victorcille, CA (high desert) area and knows of any good hiking spots. anywhere where i can csee a few cal kings and other beautiful snakes. I just moved up here and love hiking. I alos like photographing all the reptiles and amphibians i see on my hikes. can anyone help me?
