I've had similar problems with my snakes and if they can hide in something secure (not too big) with just their head popping out they'll sometimes show more interest in food. Also - try feeding at night when he may be more awake/aggressive. if this doesn't work, see if you can get your hands on a chick. supposedly dipping rats in chicken broth could work too but i've never personally tried it. good luck.
