Lots of very valid points and opinions that I support. Retrovirus' have not been identified as the culprit but are still #1 on the suspect list. Your husbandry comments are dead on, and when doing tonnes of research and having lots of discussions about the disease on the vin (vet. info. network) about a collection that may have been exposed to IBD (it was later decided that it was a false scare) the end result was to maintain proper husbandry and continue with proper quarintine protocols. (6 months was used to combine caution with practicality). I must admit that my information is several months old but I havn't heard of any updates since then. (I'm pretty sure such news would make headlines in the herp community).

As per the paramoxyvirus, I did not research that specifically but I do believe that it is a differential diagnoses to be considered. Generally it does have upper resp. symptoms associated with it. This disease has had much more research done on it and definitive diagnoses can be made. Because of this, it can also be ruled out as a cause and is almost definatly not being mixed up with IBD.
