Ditto everyone else! Buy a proportional controller for the ceramic heater (Big Apple Herp makes a nice, easy-to-use one) and you'll be in good shape.



Boas often have trouble in glass tanks because the heat escapes through the glass and humidity escapes through the top. If you have to use a glass tank, try taping pieces of styrene foam insulation around the back, bottom and sides of the tank. You can buy $3.00 sheet of it from Home Depot. Cut it with large scissors or a ulility knife then snap it. Cover much of the screen top too.
