Still, you're going to have to have some input into the final dimensions of the cage. At the very least you need to make sure it will fit into your home, down or up stairs, around corners, etc. and into the room where you will keep you cage.
I recommend cutting a large piece of cardboard into the same size as the footprint of your cage and then trying to slide that around your home and into it's final position.
If your case if you can have the length of the cage less than the height of a doorway you can turn the cage up on end and move it around. This will make things easier.
So let's say you're leaning towards a LxWxH of 6.5' x 3' x 2.5'. In that case you'll want to cut a piece of cardbard to 3'x2.5' and try to slide it around your home.
If you decide the cage absolutely needs to be 8' long then you'd need to cut your cardboard to 8'x2.5'. In that case you'd be turning the cage onto it's back to move it, assuming it's 8' x 3' x2.5'.
